Expect tons of guns, spells, and other abilities to show up. We were shown machine guns, crossbows and more. Of course, you will face off against skeletons, goblins, and other fantasy-based characters, but just like in any other Borderlands game, it is your arsenal that makes the difference. This instantly sets the mood as you are teleported into the tabletop game where you quickly learn that this is no normal D&D campaign. The trailer opens up with Tiny Tina and her friends playing a little game of Dungeons and Dragons. This game seems to embody that spirit quite well. Tina is what some may call, a little off her rocker, but it is certainly par for the course with the 2K titles over the years. When the game was first announced we were not sure what to expect. There is no release date yet, and no word on exclusivity. Let’s see if Hyung Tae-Kim and company can deliver. The combat looks very similar to many other action RPGs on the market but these types of games’ uniqueness are more through their art design and immersive stories. We saw a stunningly artful setting and some exciting battle sequences. Initially announced in 2019, Project EVE is an action RPG set in a desolated version of Earth invaded by parasitic aliens called NA:tives in which you take on the role of Eve, a former soldier who must help save humanity. It’s not even the Project Nova from CCP Games, the makers of EVE Online. Let us preface this with, no this is not the Parasite Eve sequel, reboot, or remake.

It is surprising Xbox has not been mentioned in the release due to its original exclusivity to Microsoft platforms. Various outlets are now reporting the game will also come to PC. It was huge news, however, when the trailer made it seem it was a PS5 exclusive. So it was no surprise they were tasked with bringing a remake to gamers. There were many rumors of this remake over the years and Aspyr has been the developer on multiple mobile ports. The game was followed up by KOTOR 2 and while not as popular as the first, it did a great job of building off the success of the first game.

And as gamers, we cannot help but appreciate the hard work of these studios. While some of these titles will not be for everyone, the beauty of gaming is that there is always something for everyone. Some of these titles we knew were coming, others were revealed for the very first time. Just over 40 minutes long, the online streaming event gave us a look at 18 games. This past Thursday, September 9, 2021, PlayStation held a showcase to give us a look at new upcoming games both from 3rd parties and directly from PlayStation Studios.
